Training “ME” to Function Better

If you’ve been on Facebook, then you’ve seen my post about me and my “Night-Owlness”. Honestly, I thought that aspect about myself would’ve went away after my son was born. Oh how I was WRONG. Hubby and I still don’t go to bed until the wee hours of the morning. I know I should get to bed early, but my body, for some crazy reason,  won’t listen to reason (or maybe it’s just me ignoring my body, HA.).



OK! Fine…I admit. I don’t listen to my body when it tells me that I’m sleepy. I recently told my hubby that I feel obligated to stay up because he is (yes, he’s a night owl as well). We’ve only been married for 3.5 years and majority of our marriage has been with a child. So we barely have any alone time. So when Jayden goes to bed that is our only alone time. So I want to make the most of it. When he’s up, I’m up (and sometimes when he’s sleep, I’m still up). It’s extremely hard to change something that I’ve been doing for a LONG time, but I have to.

Starting tonight, I am going to go to bed no later than 10:30pm. I’m actually hoping to get there earlier than that. I have already set my morning routine, afternoon routine, and evening routine. Doing this in advance makes my mind that much more at ease to follow through with this system.


Usually, I like to revert to the “old school” way and write my schedule on a piece of paper, but I have decided to use my phone. Since technology is progressing, I figured I’d use my phone to its fullest capacity. The app I use for this is Fly Helper. I think I will do a review of this app soon. 

Going to bed early will allow me to post more often about the things that really matter (I’m sure you’re happy to hear about my day, but would like some tips as well). I will write about my days still (especially since I’m doing this “new” routine).

I will also get back on my workouts. I’ve been slacking. But no more. August will be life changing. I will take each day one hour at a time (I know that seems like a drag!). I need to be sure that I’m doing everything possible to stick to this new routine!
